How is Flow Presented to End-Users?

When viewing your publication, readers can toggle between two viewing experiences:

  • Flipbook View – a traditional page-turning experience based on the original PDF layout
  • Flow View – a responsive, scroll-based reading experience optimised for smaller screens

Both experiences are delivered within the same publication, allowing readers to choose the format that best suits their device and reading preference. Readers can switch between viewing modes using the button located at the bottom-left of the publication viewer.

How Flipbook View is Presented

Flipbook view preserves the appearance of the original PDF. This mode is primarily designed for desktop and laptop viewing, and readers who prefer page-turning navigation.

How Flow View is Presented

Flow View restructures publication content into a responsive, single-column format designed for smaller screens. Instead of replicating the original page layout, Flow prioritises:

  • Readability
  • Responsive behaviour
  • Accessibility

Once a Flow-enabled project has been published, the publication dynamically supports both fixed-layout and responsive reading experiences without requiring any additional steps or setup. This dual-format approach ensures content remains accessible and usable across a wide range of devices and reading preferences.
