This may seem a bit daunting at first as you will have to edit some code, but don’t worry it’ll be easy once you’ve done it a few times!

1. Download a sample file located at http://www.3dissue.com/pageflip_archive.xml
2. Save this file to your desktop.
3. Right-click on the file and open with notepad (PC) or textedit (MAC).
4. Delete the contents of this file and replace it with this:

 <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″ standalone=”yes”?><menu><!– Group Name –><item sTitle=”Root Item” sURL=””><!– Your publications here! –>

<item sTitle=”[Title of Publication]” sURL=”[URL ]“/>

5. Replace [Title of Publication] with the title of your publication (eg – “My Publication”).
6. Replace [URL] with the address to your publication. To get this URL load the publication in your web-browser and then copy the URL from the address bar.
7. You can add more publications by inserting the following line after the original one.

<item sTitle=”[Title of Publication]” sURL=”[paste URL of publication here]“/>

eg- <item sTitle=”Issue 1″ sURL=”http://www.mywesbite.com/magazine/issue1” />

And by repeating step 3 you can add as many publications as you like.

8. Once the archive is completed you will have to upload it to your host. The file must be placed to the root directory of where your issues are stored.

For instance if you’re uploading to http://www.website.com/magazine then you will need to put the pageflip_archive.xml to that directory.

9. Now the next step is to include this pageflip_archive.xml in our bookinfo.xml. Open up your publication, click on ‘files > data’. Right-click on bookinfo.xml and open with notepad/textedit. Look for ‘value313=“your archive address here” and paste in the address of the archive.

eg – value313=”www.website.com/mgazine/pageflip-archive.xml”

10. Now once the archive file is uploaded (along with your edited bookinfo file and the rest of your publication files) you should be able to select the ‘archive’ button from your features menu and view previous issues.
