This is a simple tip here for 3D Issue users, it allows you to send your readers to certain pages within your digital magazine rather than sending them to page 1 or the front cover and asking them to ‘then turn to page 67…’
Each page in a 3D Issue has its own unique html page, this is what makes this tip possible. When you upload your digital publication to your website your digital magazine will have a url following this structure: www.YourWebsite.com/YourMagazine/Issue1 , with this structure you can add the following text to your url for specific page links: /files/PageNumber.html
Say your publication was 88 pages, to send them to page 67 simply add ‘/files/67.html’ to the url so it would the direct link to that page 67 would be:
www.YourWebsite.com/YourMagazine/Issue1/files/67.html
It is the same format for any other page too, so page 3 would be:
www.YourWebsite.com/YourMagazine/Issue1/files/3.html
This comes in very useful when there is a specific article, interview, photo or story that you want to share with your readers. You could also use these specific links for when you compile your email announcing the latest edition to your readers. In that email you could have 4 or 5 featured articles with an intro of text and image, each linking to that specific story. This also allows you to use your email analytics to find out what articles gained most attention from your email release.
Another use for this tip would be if your publication is all double page spreads…. you may want readers to open the publication on a double page spread, if so, add a blank page to the start of your publication, and when you upload the publication direct your readers to the publication at : www.YourWebsite.com/YourMagazine/Issue1/files/2.html - this is the opening double page spread!
