Next Issue Magazine, an independent media consortium, are getting ready to go head to head with technology companies that they themselves once relied on to launch their very own digital newsstand. This joint business enterprise of five leading publishers is getting ready to go live with two digital publications from four of its five publishers; Condé Nast, Meredith, Times Inc., and Hearst Corp.
CEO, Morgan Guenther, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that they are hoping to officiate the launch for tablets within the next few months. Although the details of the magazines and publications have not been released it has been hinted that full details of these will be made available through its storefront in the summer months.
Geunther has stated that the company has a preference to partner with the Google Android platform due to it’s flexibility in working with publishers. This seems to be another contract Apple has forfeited, an issue we at 3D Issue have discussed many times on our blogs…. Apple’s relentlessness to ease up on its approval process and its tight rein on their consumer information data. The data that publisher’s truly crave.
Next Issue Magazine is offering consumers a single issue purchase or a digital bundle option. They are ready to cash in and have teamed up with Vindicion to set up a CashBox for billing.
